Description
This is an hourly position at our award-winning Best Western Daytona Inn Seabreeze, Daytona Beach, Florida.
BASIC PURPOSE: Perform basic duties of engineering, repair and maintenance as directed by Supervisor and other hotel staff in guestrooms and all other hotel areas as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist the General Manager as needed. (10%)
2. Perform work orders; monitor progress and results. (55%)
3. Perform special projects. (10%)
4. Perform and report on the energy conservation program. (10%)
5. Work on all life/safety systems including fire, elevators, disasters and emergency lighting and generating systems. (10%)
6. Maintain all motors and control circuits. (1%)
7. Arrange for proper trash removal and recycling. (1%)
8. Purchase equipment and supplies. Maintain pars. (1%)
9. Maintain audio system within the hotel. (1%)
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Arrange for outside contracts when necessary. (1%)

Knowledge and Skills:
Education: Minimum of two years college, or equivalent in trade school, or training in property management.
Experience: Minimum of four years experience in building maintenance.
Skills and Abilities: Must be able to perform all basic functions of Engineer.
Must have special skills and experience in a construction trade such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC.
Must have skill and ability to handle building mechanical systems and controls, electrical systems, energy management, interior inishes and products and basic management/supervisor skills.
May require ability to drive a pick-up truck
