Description

PRM Hotels is looking to fill our Staff Accountant position. We are looking for local, energetic self-starters with an accounting background, that is willing to learn and partner with our hotel properties.

Basic duties:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the Corporate Director of Hotel Accounting in performing multiple duties related to the accounting functions of the organization.

1) On a daily basis check the accuracy of figures and calculations, as well as verification of cash and credit card deposits pertaining to daily business transactions recorded by hotels.

2) Chargeback administration.

3) Coordination of periodic sales tax audits and preparation of year-end balance sheet reconciliations and audit work papers.

4) Perform other related duties as directed or as the situation dictate.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Understanding of accounting principles
  • Strong computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word
  • Ability to multi-task, problem-solve and think logically
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Ability to communicate effectively with personnel and customers at all discipline levels, both written and verbal
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Able to work as a team player in a deadline driven environment with accuracy and organization
  • Maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers and public

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in an office setting
  • Experience with ADP
  • Some accounting education or work experience

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, push and pull
  • Vision is required to analyze and process various forms and documents utilized within the framework of performing assigned tasks
  • Hearing is required to adequately perform telecommunications functions
  • Ability to verbally communicate clearly with co- workers
  • Ability to operate a 10-key calculator, computer key board, and view a computer monitor screen
